Delivering growth and prosperity to every community with safe, efficient, sustainable and reliable traffic solutions. Embracing innovation and creating partnerships to help people move, now and in the future.

Creating connections, finding solutions.

OUR STORY

We view every project as an opportunity to make a better place. Whether we drive, walk, roll, or take transit, how we move is at the core of a healthy and vibrant community.

Our founder, Bobak Tehrany, launched BOE in 2017 with the belief that as communities grow and change, transportation solutions should be at the heart of any new development. After years working in larger firms, Bobak came to believe that clients would be better served by a dedicated team of traffic, transportation, and land use specialists who embrace innovative solutions and create new partnerships. With an underdog mindset and Texas-sized ambition, BOE is realizing that vision.

At BOE, it’s about people. This starts with our growing team of planners and engineers, as well as their families. It extends to our clients and their customers, and to entire communities that deserve safe, efficient, sustainable and reliable transportation options.

TRAFFIC ENGINEERING

Traffic and access are major considerations for any new development project. A critical key to success in today's urban environments is the ability to mitigate traffic impacts and ensure sufficient access for the traveling public. Through a Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA), BOE can analyze and determine the impact that your project could have on local traffic and make recommendations to offset that impact.

FEATURED PROJECTS

Brodie oaks

Outfitting a legacy commercial site with sustainable transportation options for future density.

When it was built in 1981, the Brodie Oaks shopping center, a low-rise, sprawling strip mall was a product of its time, ringed in parking lots on 36 acres in South Austin. Forty years later, it’s become a relic.

BOE was brought in to aid in the rezoning effort for the development. To do so, the firm needed to envision a key component of the area’s transformation: converting a site with only car-oriented infrastructure to a place that welcomes all transportation modes and users.

FEATURED PROJECTS

ULI Q2.jpg
q2 stadium

Incorporating a new soccer stadium for Austin into the fabric of the city.

In 2017, it was announced that a Major League Soccer team was looking to make a new home in Austin. Several sites for a prospective stadium were considered, and in 2018, McKalla Place was selected in the North Burnet section of North Austin.

The Q2 Stadium project needed a savvy transportation firm to quickly, and efficiently, come up with a plan for moving 20,000 stadium goers from the streets to their seats.

capitol complex

Shaping an antiquated state government complex to include modern transportation needs.

The Capitol Complex project in downtown Austin broke ground in 2023, but has been decades in the making. The idea? To build new state office buildings for government employees, a massive underground parking garage, and reclaim surface parking lots to become a pedestrian mall accessible to the public.

In 2022, the state engaged the BOE team to evaluate a ten-year-old traffic study for potential updates, and recommend additional infrastructure improvements.

Keeping our community moving safely

As our communities face growth challenges, environmental responsibility, and smart mobility, BOE brings valuable solutions to state and local government agencies and private clients. BOE provides traffic engineering, transportation planning, and development consulting that ensures your new development project positively impacts the surrounding communities.

“BOE’s early and continued involvement with Austin FC and Q2 Stadium led to a remarkably successful launch.  The team’s attention to detail, professional connections, and responsiveness provided the necessary backdrop to enable us to concentrate on the all the details surrounding fan experience and opening a stadium.”

Jordan Enke

“BOE consistently goes above and beyond from project inception to project completion. BOE isn’t satisfied with the status quo and really value their clients. It’s evident in their communication and the manner they advocate for their client’s projects. They also have strong relationships with City and County staff which proves invaluable time and time again. BOE is far more than a consulting firm – they are partners who truly care about their clients and the projects they manage. They are hands-down the best at what they do, and they will continue to be the only traffic engineering team we work with."

Melissa Neslund
Real Estate Development Manager,
Stratus Properties Inc.

“I met Bobak for the first time in a public hearing supporting one of my projects in a very vocal community. I had no idea the engineer I hired was not only educated and professional, but compassionate, personable and well spoken.  We left that meeting with unanimous approval, and the confidence of the community that our traffic issues had been addressed and resolved.  That was the first of many to follow over the last 12 years, and our success has been no less remarkable.  I don’t have words to describe the trust and respect I have for BOE consulting.  But I can say, they are number one on my speed dial list!”
